KNOWLEDGE DEVELOPMENT

PADI eLearning has changed the game, making it is easier than ever to get certified. This doesn’t mean you’ll have less knowledge, it just means you can start your adventure from home in your pyjamas – learning all you need to know to dive safely and have loads of fun below the waves. It is best when you complete this section of the course before coming to the centre to train, though it is definitely possible to finish studying the theory while already practicing your scuba skills in the pool. And of course, you can always reach out to your instructor with any questions along the way. It’s why we are here. 🙂 When you’re ready for the next step, let us know and we’ll schedule your confined water sessions.

CONFINED WATER SESSIONS

You don’t have to wait until we have a certain amount of people come together for a course. Your confined sessions take place in our own pool! We are really stoked to offer this experience as the only dive centre with a pool on the island. Over the course of several pool sessions, you will learn and practice scuba skills with the expert guidance from one of our awesome PADI instructors. Personal attention is our priority here to help lay a solid groundwork for your skills from where you’ll grow to be a great diver! Practice makes perfect. We’ll also hop out of the pool to chill, eat snacks, and of course hydrate in between. Before you know it you’ll be ready to head into the ocean!

OPEN WATER DIVES

You’ll do 4 dives as part of this course where you’ll apply everything you’ve learned and practice it out in the ocean.

+ HOW LONG DOES THE PADI OPEN WATER DIVER COURSE TAKE TO COMPLETE?

The eLearning (independent study) portion of the course takes anywhere from 5 – 10 hours to complete. In-water training at Nautico usually takes around 3 days.

+ AVAILABLE LANGUAGES

The PADI Open Water Diver course has eLearning available in the following languages: English, Norwegian, Swedish, German, Dutch, Polish, Danish, Portuguese, Russian, Arabic, Hebrew, Italian, Korean, French, Spanish, Japanese, Chinese Simplified, and Chinese Traditional. For the practical portion of your course, we do our best to match you with an instructor who speaks your language. We can’t always make this happen but we do always make it work: dive signs are universal! 🙂

+ MEDICAL REQUIREMENTS

Scuba diving requires a minimum level of health + fitness. Chronic health conditions, certain medications, and/or recent surgery may require you to get written approval from a physician before diving. Have a look at the Diver Medical Form to ensure you won’t need a physician’s approval to dive before enrolling in a scuba course.

+ COURSE PREREQUISITES & MINIMUM AGE

Able to swim, medically fit for diving, comfortable in the water. The minimum age is 10 years.

+ COURSE PRICE

Everything you will need (and more) is included in the total course price of 549.00 €. There are no extra costs for completing the course. The eLearning, pool sessions, dives, dive insurance, all necessary gear and equipment, certification fees, pick-up and drop-off service from your hotel, water, snacks + fruits for lunch, are all included in the course price.
